The Talentum story is about passion, expertise and best practice. It is a culmination of over 2 decades of experience in Talent Acquisition, and bringing the know-how to South Africa, where we believe it is much needed.

Kim James is the driving force behind Talentum Resourcing & Talent Solutions. Kim has 22 years’ global Talent Acquisition experience in corporates such as Barclays Bank, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, HSBC and IBM and therefore brings deep-seated in-house and Recruitment Process Outsource (RPO) solutions experience to the organisations she works with.

Born and raised in South Africa, Kim started her recruitment career in South Africa at The Kelly Group and moved to the United Kingdom in 1999 where she joined Robert Walters. Her in-house and RPO roles saw her build Talent Acquisition functions in London, Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates, where Kim delivered regional and global consult-to-operate resourcing models in both client and vendor environments. In the RPO arena, Kim has RPO client delivery experience having worked for two of the top global RPO providers Alexander Mann Solutions and IBM Kenexa (according to PEAK Matrix Global Preview 2015).

She returned to her home country in early 2016 to bring her global experience to the South African market, where she believes her combined passion for the specialism, and her experience brings much needed expertise to the evolving Total Talent Management arena in South Africa.

Kim has a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from Middlesex University (UK), is a Chartered Member of the CIPD (UK), a Chartered HR Professional of the SABPP (South Africa). In addition, Kim is an IBM Member Partner (IBM-Partner World) which allows her to re-sell IBM Smarter Workforce products as part her Talent Management solutions.

  • I used PDA as a tool to support my latest hire. What a revelation it was - fantastic to see how it aligned with our recruitment strategy and current interview process. The level of detail we received was more than we ever expected and outlined immediately the areas to develop with our new hire as well as giving us a focal point for our initial few weeks of on boarding.
